I have seen doormats that made a play on the name “Matt”. Can the joke go the other direction?

I wasn’t really trying to make a big political point, though one could be made. I just thought “Surveillance State” sounds like a college.

This strip is my annual tribute to one of the greatest cartoonists of all time, Walt Kelly. The tip-off is what Tuttle’s doing.
