I know who people who watch every one of those movies. And I know people who think such watching is a sign of the end of our culture. I think it’s just funny.
There are certain Bible stories we never have the kids act out but, admit it: the little boys would probably enjoy playing out the more gruesome stories.
This is the first mention in the strip that Pete has a lot of money. Now, I’m wondering if it’s true and he just works as a fry cook for something to do, or does he think what he has makes him wealthy? Which would kind of make him more sane than we’ve previously thought.
“Cottage & CO”, starring Burt Cottage, was the strip I drew years ago, before “Tuttle’s”. Seeing these characters again is like running into a dear old friend. I drew them today (my birthday, by coincidence) because this punch line just didn’t work with any of the characters in “Tuttle’s”.
For those uncultured-types, this is a reference to both “The great Waldo Pepper” (9th greatest movie of all time) and “Where’s Waldo?”
