My big question about doing this strip was that “don’t sweat it” might be so old no one knew what it meant. Did it anyway.

I once drew a really good illustration for a friend’s Sunday School lesson on that verse in the first panel. The dog didn’t look like Phydeaux.

Phydeaux is reading “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”. I just couldn’t write all those letters in that small space.

The video in question was about this rescue beaver that kept damning up the hallway with the couch cushions. Very funny and cute.

To Tolkien fans, the idea that the Arkenstone might have been a Silmaril is barely possibly. But a Palantir? Of course not!

I did see this “argument” in a book a while back, which is where the idea came from for this strip. Do you know what I’m talking about?

In the old strips, from Snuffy Smith to Pogo to Dennis the Menace, having a character smoke was completely ordinary. No one smokes in strips now and the world is a worse place.

This is one of my favorite bits of useless trivia. What’s strange is that the GBs are in NYC and Jim is in LA.

I can’t remember where I ran across this title. Maybe in a work about Tolkien?

Okay, for both of you who are paying attention, this joke doesn’t work. Tuttle and Phydeaux have both been depicted wearing shoes for baseball.
