Doctor Tuttle is in!
Sam White has been drawing comics and writing for as long as he can remember, with Charles Schulz and Louis L’Amour being his two biggest influences. Working now in the medical field, Sam sees a lot that needs to be commented on — and hence Tuttle, the doctor and friend to a whole slew of crazies. Tuttle’s and DoctorTuttle run in several newspapers in Texas. Sam’s novels can be found at garisonfitch.com.

On Wings Like An …

The people who got this cartoon really loved it. A lot of people, though, didn’t know that Amy Grant is a] married to Vince Gill (for about 20 years now) and b] Vince is touring with the Eagles (as he has for the last few years).

Afternoon DEE-Light!

You may be wondering why I didn’t choose a more ubiquitous restaurant chain. I’m pretty sure I had just been to DQ, might have even still had an icre cream cone in my hand, when I drew this.

Trading Cards

I can still remember opening a pack once and the gum fell out. When it hit the sidewalk it shattered like a piece of glass.

Great Idea!

Between when I wrote this and when it came out, there suddenly became several teams who needed a desperate option for closer.

Empirical Umpirical

Maybe he can replace Joe West or Angel Hernandez, two guys who are only employed because of the power of their union.

Let’s Go Astros!

I am disappointed in the players, but I also remember the night they won the World Series and what that felt like after 52 years of waiting.

Stereophonic, Baby!

If you don’t get this joke, ask your parents … or grandparents. Also, I miss the discussions of woofers and tweeters and analog vs. stereo and what kind of cactus spine makes the best turntable needle.

Strikeout King

One of my heroes, Nolan Ryan, had a game like this as a high school pitcher … except he struck out 21 in seven innings and only hit 4.
