This was my thought from the first time I heard the phrase, so I think I’ve used this joke back in “Cottage & CO”.

It’s fun to go back to Burt Cottage now and then, with gags that don’t really work for Tuttle and his crew.

Do people still use the phrase “put your money in”? I used to hear it as a child and putting my money in oil sounded messy.

Do people still use Turtle Wax? I’m guessing so, but I don’t think I have ever used it myself.

I remember when we used to pay $2 to go to an in-school concert from some tolerable garage band. It was so much that we liked the music as that we were willing to pay $2 to skip class.

I have a friend named Otto who often made this joke, or one like it. This is as close as he gets to receiving credit.

From all I understand, Herring Banks are quality establishments. The name just writes this joke on its own.
