I think I thought of this pun as a kid, probably while watching Gunsmoke, but just never thought of how to use it as a cartoon. Aren’t you glad I finally figured it out?!?!
According to one source, the first effective silencers for guns were actually designed to be sound mufflers for machinery. Also, I’m surprised I didn’t get any complaints about a comic strip that may involve guns.
For several years in this strip there was an annual competition between the reptiles and everyone else. It started with football, then I know they played tug-o-war, and I can’t remember what all else. Wonder why I got away from it?
