I can’t believe how thin and cheap big screen TVs are getting. I keep thinking about a new one when I go to the store, but the 42 incher I have now works just fine. Why am I telling you this?!?!
I know who people who watch every one of those movies. And I know people who think such watching is a sign of the end of our culture. I think it’s just funny.
I have never watched an entirety of one of those movies, but as I visit patients, that’s often what’s on TV in their room. In those half-hour blocks, they all look the same.
There are people who think this way. Who didn’t realize “The Hobbit” (and LOTR) were loosely based on existing books. But now, I’m surprised they didn’t come out with watered-down, simplified novels for the movies. Publishing thinks less and less of it’s readers and is mandating that authors not use compound sentences, keep the paragraphs short, and write everything at an 8th grade level. Are they correct in thinking so low of their audience, or are they trying to make their readers dim?
