Doctor Tuttle is in!
Sam White has been drawing comics and writing for as long as he can remember, with Charles Schulz and Louis L’Amour being his two biggest influences. Working now in the medical field, Sam sees a lot that needs to be commented on — and hence Tuttle, the doctor and friend to a whole slew of crazies. Tuttle’s and DoctorTuttle run in several newspapers in Texas. Sam’s novels can be found at garisonfitch.com.

Fun With Catheters

When sitting in interdisciplinary team meetings, I’m the one cringing when the talk turns to catheters, as it often does.

iChart?

When I go to the eye doctor and he has me read from this chart, how do I know he knows what’s written there. I’m looking at the chart, not paying attention to whether he is or not!

Doctors’ Office Upgrade

Such a thing might actually help the psychiatrist, if he let the patients use it.

Thankfulness-Giving

I think I have done this strip before, or one very close to it.

New Pillow

I have a coworker who really likes her bamboo pillow. I have not tried one, yet, because the mental picture I have of one does not seem comfortable. I am, therefore, the definition of ignorance on the matter, except in that pandas really do eat bamboo.

Are We healed, Yet

Of course, psychiatry and mental therapy and like disciplines are not there to heal, but to bring healing. What’s the difference? One involves success and the other involves pay.

Still a Better Name than Sod Poodles

We’re getting a new minor league team and there was supposedly a public vote for the name but I have a sneaking suspicion the owners had already picked the name they wanted and just pretended to give us a choice.

Pardon Me While I Walk About

People don’t use the word “perambulate” much anymore. I think it’s because they never used it much before.

Non-Compliant

Ya gotta wonder about the patients that won’t do what the doctor tells them to do (or take) and then get mad at the doctor for not healing them

Infusion, Eh?

Yes, this is a real thing. I heard it at work. I have no idea what it is and am too lazy to look it up (beyond how to spell it).
